Blog 2: Topic Proposal

The community I'm choosing to create a documentary is on is my neighborhood community. My neighborhood is a community because we were a group of people who inhabited locality. A locality is a reference to the persons that live there. I know about the community because I was member of it. I grew up there, I learned how to be the person I am there. My relationship to this community, besides the fact its my home, is that it was the template and guide to how I want to raise my kids. Now that I’ve grown out of it, I would like to present the same opportunity to my kids. I want to be able to give them a safe and free environment to grow up. A thing I would like to find out, now that I’m more removed from the community is why it is we aren't as close as we used to be. Whether that be because some of us went off to college, and some stayed. Or because we now have different interest, and we are less interested in sharing them. I would like to discover why the people I had everything in common with and spoke to everyday, are now mostly just a part of memories, with the few exceptions of minimal communication.
