Blog 4: Secondary Artifact

The artifact I am using are the results to a survey done asking people, or children whose parents are divorced, how they feel their parents divorce affected them. It mainly talks about what they wish could have changed the most, had their parents not gotten divorced. Im using this for my project because I think it gives people whose parents aren't divorced an insight to the things these kids think, and the amount of thinking these kids do. I found this website and survey by looking into how children are affected by divorce. The information was gathered by Dr. Emory, and is cited from the Journal of Family Psychology. The website I got this survey from also discusses the stress children can feel, the risk these kids could suffer from, and the painful memories and worries they may face. However, it also informs us that kids are resilient. Regardless, its common knowledge that divorce has an effect on every party involved, including the kids, the parents, and their families. I think the main thing to take away from this survey is that whether kids express it or not, the divorce and separation of something as secure as a family, is something that will leave a lasting impression an all involved.
